The "joys" of parenthood...

~Nov. 13, 2002~

I'm sitting here with a busted lip from Jared. I was changing Tristan's clothes, and he started playfully yelling for help. Jared immeditately jumps up, runs over and decks me in the mouth. Now it's bleeding. Nice to know they're at least protective of each other...

This is just one of a many injuries I've garnered over the last couple days spent with my children. The other include, in not particular order bruises on my legs, a pain in my kidney from a well placed kick, the slice on my thumbpad from a knife, countless marks on the soles of my feet from stepping on toys, and a plethora of other injuries that are too numerous to even think about.

Ok, so what's the deal? Why didn't anyone every even hint that raising kids is a full contact sport that requires tons of padding? I've acquired more scratches, scrapes, bruises, bloody lips, scars and even a blakc eye from the last almost 3 years with these two than I have in just about the entirity of my life!

*sighs* And now Tristan has just chucked a toy truck at Jared's head and sliced open part of his ear. Off to the ER we go...
