Ok, call me slow, call me behind the power curve, call me whatever, but I have just realized that in the movie Fight Club, Tyler Durgen is......................................................................................................... ............................................................AN ALTER! The dude's a multiple! How the hell did I NOT catch that the first time I watched it, or the second??? I mean, hell, all the clues and signs are there. From the beginning... And especially in scenes like where the two are in the bathroom talking about their fathers... I mean, hello! I'm still a bit surprised that I didn't catch it before this. And here I was thinkin' I had it figured out before. Now I don't even remember what I had thought I'd figured out.
Yet, at the same time...is he? I mean, yea, all the signs and symptoms are there, but when the two are talking, Tyler is saying that he is what the host couldn't be, sort of implying that he was created due to Ed Norton's character's being disgruntled and dissatified with life. And that's not how an alter is brought into being. So, that makes them not truly multiples. Yet they are the same person. And by definition, two seperate people in the same body, that is multiplicity. So maybe I haven't figured it out. Maybe I'm no better off than when I first watched the movie. Ah well. I did learn something, though...
Brad Pitt is one sexy as sonuva bitch! Now I'm gonna go dream a little dream about me, him, my bed, feathers and jello. Have a day. :)
