Nightmares~Oct. 07, 2002~ Jared's been having nightmares lately. It seems that every time he goes to sleep, within an hour or so, he'll have one. These last three days off he's had them during nap time as well as in the evening. Today's was the worst, though. He started whimpering, and than shrieking. There was no screaming involved, just straight out shrieking. I ran in, and went to pick him up, and he started yelling no, and lashing at me for all he was worth. Kicking and hitting me, shaking his head back and forth. I'm actually very surprised that he didn't wake up Tristan, but he didn't. (Tristan was having a coughing fit, so I was sure he was going to pop up and want a drink. I'm so glad he didn't.) I really hate admitting this, but I almost couldn't stop him from thrashing. He was really strong, and quite determined that I wasn't going to pick him up. And he was still asleep. I struggled with him over to the rocking chair, and tried to calm him down. It took a while, but he did. I put him back down in his bed, and he seemed alright after that. But I have no idea what has triggered these nightmares for him. No clue as to why he's having them so much. And no idea how I can stop them. And that kills me. Did you miss something? Check and see... |
